The Portfolio Manager for Portfolio Management is responsible for identifying and qualifying Payment Integrity solutions to payment integrity customers. The successful candidate will be seasoned at managing a portfolio of projects and working across teams to meet client targets. Your passion to find repeatable methods to drive business development opportunities and client growth are key elements in the foundation of this role. This role will be a part of a team who will focus on the delivery of client initiatives to drive payment integrity savings across United Healthcare.

Day-to-day activities may include but are not limited to, oversight on current in-year initiatives, mitigating risks and issues to ensure successful delivery of plans, developing new strategies for growth, following up on customer inquiries or requests for proposals, conducting opportunity reviews. You will be responsible for finding ways to deepen and broaden the entire Optum Payment Integrity product line as well as assessing broader market developments and trends.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Development and execution of PI growth strategies and plans, including the development of new business capabilities.

• Build relationships with teams who focus on the integrity of claim payments and serve as the primary point of contact for growth delivery.

• Manage portfolio of initiatives to track, measure and report on program financials and operational impacts, keeping key stakeholders informed; developing new reports and enhancing existing reports as needed (e.g., dashboards, scorecards, reports)

• Review consolidated operational performance reports to determine overall effectiveness, make necessary changes, and identify opportunities for new programs or program consolidation or expansion.

• Ability to engage business partners in a matrix organization from individual to senior management, lead meetings, gather requirements, and meet deadlines.

• Provide timely written and / or verbal communications regarding project progress including deliverables, significant milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies to the management team.

• Create and maintain high-quality artifacts including PNP’s business requirements, test plans & results, meeting notes, process design & other documentation.

• Ability to function and maintain data integrity in a multi -project environment with changing priorities.

• Establishes best practices and tools to grow services.

• Represents clients and coordinates with other functions to implement new initiatives, complete projects, and address ongoing growth needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience in identifying process, reporting gaps, and implementing enhancements to solve a problem.

• Proven experience in developing, implementing, and delivering on growth strategies.

• Proven experience documenting processes and practices.

• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint (at least intermediate, will be creating and presenting slide decks)

• Proficiency with MS Excel (at least intermediate)

• Proficiency with Tableau (at least intermediate)

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, priorities, projects, and deadlines.

• High attention to detail with exceptional verbal and written communications skills

• Highly collaborative style, with ability to establish credibility and build relationships at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree (ideally in Business or Finance)

• Project Management experience

• Experience in claims administration and payment integrity

• Business process knowledge related to technical applications within UHG-IT and/or Optum.

• Experience in financial experience such as budgeting, forecasting
