ICU Medical CT Scanning Technician in Salt Lake City, Utah

Position Summary Computer Tomography (CT) Technician develops, maintains, and generates CT programs/routines used to inspect and verify production materials and components, the associated fixtures to present the components for CT scanning, and is the point of contact for maintaining the equipment. Reviews drawings and specifications to establish correct inspection criteria following best practices. Establish and maintain robust Measurement Systems in compliance with Medical Device Manufacturing requirements. Essential Duties & Responsibilities • Support, organizing and execute CT Scanning activities as the representative of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group, receiving requests from multiple sites. • Operate CT Scanner including multiple types of metrology software to precisely inspect quality characteristics of molded components, assemblies, and products. • Prepare metrology/quality inspection reports. • Act as a liaison between the equipment manufacturer and the facility to ensure proper function and to address internal needs. • Collaborate in the creation of proper measurement features and set up and qualification of required routines for dimensional and functional inspections. • Collaborate on defining work instructions around inspection equipment use, and to keep equipment and parts free from damage during the inspection process. • Collaborate on ensuring dimensional measurements taken are both accurate and repeatable. Perform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GRR) studies to evaluate measurement methods as needed. • Train colleagues / technicians / inspectors as needed to properly run the CT Scanner testing following established work instructions and proper measurement techniques. • Performs other functions and work on special projects as necessary or as assigned. Knowledge & Skills • Working knowledge and understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment. • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Basic understanding of GD&T and Metrology terminology. • Mechanical inspection experience using basic and high precision measurement equipment capable of measuring tight tolerances • Experience conducting visual, functional, physical and dimensional inspection with good understanding of how these tests challenge correct product performance. • Knowledge of quality control practices and perform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) and Test Method Validation studies associated to Quality Measurement inspections. • Familiarity with and skilled in Microsoft office products • Comfortable with learning and operating less common statistical, measurement and design software (e.g. GOM, SolidWorks) Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience • Must be at least 18 years of age. • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s or Advanced degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. • 1 years’ experience programing CMMs or similar high accuracy measurement equipment. • Experience using CT Scanning and GOM for analysis of parts desired, but training will be provided as needed for the right candidate. Physician Requirements and Work Environment • This is largely a sedentary role. • This job requires to work consistently inside a clean room environment and in front of a computer for hours at a time, along with standing and walking. • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs and may be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
